The tour begins with a visit to the Grand Mosque, which stands in stately splendor. This beautiful piece of architecture is a must-see for all tourists (open daily for visitors, between 0800-1100 Hrs, except Fridays/holidays). Women should wear clothing that covers their arms and legs and a scarf to cover their heads. Men should wear their regular shirts and trousers). Continue on to Muttrah’s fish and vegetable markets. Feel free to mingle with the audience. Visit the Muttrah Souq, which has a mix of old and new. Sights, sounds, and fragrances abound. You then walk past the Corniche and into the capital area before taking a photo
City Tour
Embark on a coastal journey as you set out in the morning. Your first stops include Mazara village, the remarkable Bimah Sink Hole—an awe-inspiring geological feature—and the picturesque Finns Beach, a perfect spot for a leisurely picnic. As you continue your drive, pass by Qalhat, one of Oman’s oldest towns dating back to the 2nd Century AD, before reaching the historic East African port of Sur.
They’ll take you to Bandar Rawdha Marina. Take a two-hour dhow cruise on a classic Omani dhow. You pass the fishing village of Sidab and the Muscat Yacht Club. Sail by Al Bustan Palace, Oman’s most prestigious hotel, after passing the Sultan’s Palace and the forts of Jalali and Mirani on either side of the harbor in historic Muscat. You pass by Qantab from this point on, and in Bandar Jissah, you can catch a view of the Shangri-La Resorts. Go back to Muscat. On board, dates and kahwa are served.

Drive through Sumail Gap and Izki, pausing for a photo at Birkat Al Mouz. Both old and new villages feature lush date and banana plantations. Birkat Al Mouz hosts Oman’s longest falaj, the “Al Khateem Falaj” (UNESCO SITE), spanning 2450 meters. Continue to the Saiq Plateau, once accessible only by donkeys, revealing terraced gardens with pomegranates, apricots, and lemons. Rose gardens bloom in April. Explore Wadi Bani Habib, Shrejaya, Al Ain, and Aqur with pleasant, dry weather. Conclude with a picnic lunch before returning to Muscat in the evening.
Timing: 0900 to 1600 hours
Leave Muscat for Barka, a coastal town with a fort and small souqs. Near Nakhl, spot a fortress on a ridge, built by the Al Ya’ruba and Al Bu Sayed dynasties. Visit the fort and Nakhl’s hot springs. Enjoy lunch on a shaded patio. Then, head to Rustaq to photograph another ancient fort. Return to Muscat in the evening.
Depart from Muscat to visit Barka’s fish market, mingling with fishermen. Next, head to Wadi Abyadh, passing a town with date plantations and enjoying rock pools. Enjoy a picnic lunch. Then, travel through Wadi Mistal in the Hajar Mountains, driving 30km to the ophiolite mountains near Hadash and Wekan villages. Turn right for a steep climb to Wekan, an agricultural village at 1700m above sea level, known for its stunning views and cultivation of dates, apricots, walnuts, grapes, and pomegranates. Return to Muscat.

Billad Sayt, the most picturesque rural village in Oman, lies in the Western Hajars as you go down the Batinah Coast. You enter the stunning Wadi Bani Awf, just outside of Awabi. Your eyes are rewarded to a beautiful panorama of palm trees and tiered gardens nestled between the stone walls of Bilad Sayt, after a breathtaking drive. Lunch on a picnic beneath beautiful shadows. Via Nakhl, you return to Muscat.

Visit the fish souk in Seeb, then take the road north of Rustaq towards Wadi Sahtan, passing through Wadi Bani Ghafir, Wadi Mabrah, and Wadi Hidaq on the way to Ibri. Drive carefully through narrow lanes and avoid large rocks. Enjoy a picnic lunch. Reach Sahtan Bowl, also referred to as “the chest of Oman” or “the mandoos,” which is a remote location encircled by verdant plantations. Go back to Muscat.
Schedule: 08:30 to 16:30 almost
Proceed from Muscat to Quriyat along the shore, crossing the plateau and arriving at the slender coastal path. Get to Wadi Shab and trek up one of the picturesque wadis in Oman. At the end of Wadi Shab, one can swim through a renowned keyhole to enter a remote, fantastical world. After your trek, you deserve a well-earned lunch. Approach the neighborhood eatery. Proceed to “Fins Beach,” which has white sands, after lunch. Savor the beauty of the waves. After that, proceed to the natural wonder known as the Bimah Sink Hole (Hawaiyat Najm Park). Go back to Muscat.
Please take note that the wadi is tough to walk on due to the rocks and pebbles scattered across it. Wearing supportive walking shoes is advised.)
Timing – 0800 to 1000 Hrs. or 10:00 to 12:00 Hrs.
At 7.15 a.m., you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the Marina. Make a fantasy come true by boarding a speed boat and exploring the hidden treasures of Oman’s magical coastline. A two-hour cruise will provide you with an unforgettable experience, and you will almost certainly see swimming dolphins. Dolphins (usually common, spinner, bottlenose, or Indo-Pacific species) can be seen at any time of year. A dolphin in flight is a spectacular sight that captivates onlookers. Soft drinks are available on board. Return to the Marina later
Timing – approximately 08:30 A M Hrs to 05:30 P M Hrs
Muscat should be avoided. We travel to Al Hamra via Fanjah, Izki, and the scenic Wadi Ghul, stopping at the old village of Ghul to see the abandoned Persian ruins. From here, we ascend to Jebel Shams, Oman’s highest peak at 3000 meters. From here, you can see all the way into the Grand Canyon of Oman. Lunch will be served at the Jebel Shams Resort.
On the way back, stop at Misfat Al Abrein, a picturesque village clinging to the side of a mountain. You will be moved by the simplicity and friendliness of the people as you walk around this beautiful village where time has come to a halt.
Timing – 09:00 AM Hrs to 5:00 PM Hrs (approximately)
A journey through the Sumail Gap, which separates the Western and Eastern Hajars, to the Old Capital of Oman, Nizwa, known for its silver souq and large round fort. After visiting the souq and the fort, you proceed to Bahla, where you will see the massive loam fort (photo stop). Bahla is also known as Oman’s pottery capital. Bahla is on the UNESCO list of heritage monuments due to its cultural significance. Lunch at a nearby restaurant. The next stop is Jabrin fort, which is one of Oman’s most magnificent forts with its painted ceiling, dungeons, and hidden passages. Back to Muscat
Timing – approximately 08:30 Hrs to 06:00 Hrs
Board a 4wd and head towards Fanjah, where you stop to take photos of an abandoned village. You drive through the Sumail Gap that divides the Western and Eastern Hajars. See the ruins of the old mercantile community of Al Mansfah near Ibra. Head towards the enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid. Picnic Lunch. Drive past the village with its endless date plantations. Reach the magnificent Wadi. The pools are cool, deep and absolutely stunning and the silky water perfect for a long swim. From here, proceed to Wahiba, the undulating golden sands. Indulge in some thrilling Dune Bashing. Return to Muscat.
